NFL Week 8: Philadelphia Eagles Vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

We are into week 8 of the NFL regular season and looking forward to another great matchup. The Philadelphia Eagles will face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, October 30th. The Eagles are looking to soar high as they defend their home turf against the Steelers, an opponent they’ve encountered several times before.

Philadelphia Eagles VS. Pittsburgh Steelers

The last time these two faced off at the city of brotherly love, things went horribly for the invaders. It was a day Eagles fans still cherish in their hearts, as their opponents were destroyed on the field. Philadelphia flew throughout the match and beat their opponents 34-3; a wound Pittsburgh still carries today. Will history repeat itself? Or will the Steelers come up with a plan to finally win in Philadelphia?

Philadelphia Eagles: How Are They Doing This Season?

The Eagles are at the top of their game with a clean 6-0 record this season. They currently sit at the top of the NFC East division, shadowed only by the New York Giants.

Philadelphia Eagles are at the top of their game

The team has enjoyed a long undefeated streak and has overcome all challengers this year. Out of those 6 wins, 3 were at home, and 3 were in enemy territory. With this next game, they’re looking to complete 4 home wins in total.

Pittsburgh Steelers: How Are They Doing This Season?

The Steelers are struggling to keep up this season and are already at the bottom of the AFC North division. Out of the 7 games, they played this season, Pittsburgh has only won 2. Their current record? 2-5.

Pittsburgh Steelers struggle to keep up

They are the underdogs in this upcoming match and desperately need to come up with a strategy to win. Otherwise, we’ll witness a sad repeat of what happened last time.

How Did The Eagles Do In Their Last Match?

The Eagles went toe to toe against the Dallas Cowboys in their last match and came out victorious. Many felt that the Cowboys would finally break their undefeated streak, but the resilience of Philadelphia won the day.

The game started slow, with both teams making impressive drives but ultimately being pushed back. For a moment, the teams seemed quite well-matched, but that feeling only lasted till the end of the first quarter.

The Eagles drew first blood and scored a touchdown early on in the second quarter. This was the match’s turning point, as the Eagles rode over their opponents from then on. The Cowboys made multiple efforts but could not penetrate the enemy lines. By the end of the second quarter, Dallas only managed to score 3 points, while Philadelphia was already soaring at 20.

The third quarter witnessed some valiant efforts from the Cowboys, as they managed to close the deficit by 7 more points. They did a good job of keeping the enemy at bay, as the Eagles could not gain a single point. But whatever gains they made here would soon be undone in the next quarter as the Eagles finally woke up from their slumber.

The final quarter was when all hopes for a Dallas victory were snuffed out from the stadium. Although the Cowboys did bring the very best of what they could do, it wasn’t enough to beat their opponents.

It started with a touchdown from the Cowboys, who came just 3 points away from tying the score. But the Eagles soon scored a touchdown of their own, making a tie game even more impossible. By now, it was too late, and the game ended with an Eagles victory. The final score was 26-17.

How Did The Steelers Do In Their Last Match?

Pittsburgh Steelers faced off against the Miami Dolphins in week 7 and lost a close game to their opponents. Miami scored their first touchdown within 5 minutes of the game, already brewing trouble for Pittsburgh. Fans could witness Pittsburgh’s weak defensive line as they were forced to punt several times. The quarter ended with Miami scoring 13 points, while Pittsburgh scored none.

In the second quarter, the Steelers showed some initiative and made it into the red zone, soon scoring their first 3 points. This was definitely their round, as they made the most progress here. Pittsburgh scored 7 more points, while Miami scored 3. The scoreboard at halftime was Pittsburgh 10:16 Miami.

The third quarter showed great effort by both teams as they beefed up their defensive lines. However, it was clear that focusing only on defense was a losing strategy for the Steelers, who desperately needed to score. In the end, neither team made any gains, and the quarter ended in a stalemate. It was similar in the last quarter, as neither team managed to score.

The match finally ended with the Dolphins coming out as the victors. The final score remained 10:16, with Miami in the lead.

Eagles Vs. Steelers: Match Predictions

Let’s face it; the Steelers don’t have a chance by a long shot. If they focus too much on defense, they won’t be able to score. On the other hand, if they play aggressively, their defensive line will shatter. So whatever they do, it’s a lose-lose situation.

Even by some miracle, if they come up with a bullet-proof strategy, they still wouldn’t have enough to secure the win. The fact that the Steelers have never won a game in Philadelphia is another downer that will affect morale.

Meanwhile, the Eagles are supremely confident of a swift victory, and why shouldn’t they be? They are the most elite team this season and have overcome teams far better than their Sunday opponents. Many predict that Philadelphia will dominate the upcoming match, and we agree entirely.
